January 15, 2018 | seo | Leave a comment The month of January can be cold, snowy, and grey. Luckily this is a great time to talk about women’s health. Given that the first month of the year is cervical cancer awareness month the best thing to do is to look back on when you had your last pap smear. If you have not had a pap in over 3 years or ever- it might be a good idea to talk to your provider and get a check up. Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer affecting women. Each year about 500,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer and more than 270,000 die from it.Note: it is recommended to get tests done every three years if you have no history of abnormal pap smears. Regular pap smear tests decrease a woman’s chance of cervical cancer by 5 times! So why not get an exam?
